The new stadium - Emirates - another milestone![]()
The newest milestone in the Arsenal
history is the just finished Emirates stadium. Cost of building was an
estimated £390M, the sheer size of the project has created 1800 new
jobs in the borough of Islington in London where it is located. As part
of the deal, there is also 2,000 new Islington homes projected - a
massive project benefitting both Arsenal FC and London. The new stadium can house up to 60,000 football fans and is in use now. Emirates stadium replaces the famous old Highbury stadium that has been in service from 1913 up to 2006 when the new stadium was ready with artificial turf (synthetic astroturf) |
