Fredrik Ljungberg is the Arsenal player who has been longest in the club. He joined Arsenal in summer 1998. Fredrik is a good player anywhere in the midfield, a hard working and efficient player.

The Arsenal debut was on September 20, 1998, played as sub in the 3-0 win over Manchester United. Fredrik was in the game for ten minutes and scored with a sneaky lob tricking Schmeichel.

Fredrik was awarded the "Barclaycard Player of the Season" in 2002 after a very successful season scoring a total of 7 goals in as many games. Among his best performances that season was the classic strike against Chelseain the FA Cup final and his shot leading up to the critical goal a few days later at Old Trafford.
