Jens Lehman

Jens Lehman was enrolled from Borussia Dortmund on July 25th, 2003 for the staggering sum of £2.5 million. His premier match for Arsenal was against Manchester United in Community Shield (1-1). The Premier League debut resulted in a 2-1 victory over Everton.

The rumour though is that Wenger started to look for a replacment already after Lehman's first season in Arsenal. One reason for this would be the hot temper of Lehman who for instance once threw the ball at the Southampton forward Kevin Phillips, an offence for which Jens Lehman was fined £10,000. Another example is when he pushed Christano Ronaldo in the FA Cup semi final at Villa-Park.

Merits: 1997 UEFA Cup (Shalke  04), 2002 Bundesliga (Borussia Dortmund), 2004 Premier League (Arsenal) and 2004 Charity Shield (Arsenal).
